More Than Just Art Classes
Individualized Programs, Field Trips and Contests
INDIVIDUALIZED PROGRAM
Techniques and skills for drawing that Casa Cultural aims to teach are as follows:
MORE THAN JUST ART CLASSES: In addition to art, students at Casa Cultural are exposed to other cultures through arts, crafts and music. Participants also attend field trips throughout the year. Trips have included Special Dodger Games, Museums, Chivas America Soccer game, Symphonies, Art Galleries, Art Competitions and Cultural Events in and around our city. Students have the opportunity to participate in numerous art-related contests throughout the year at which many of our students have ranked as top winners. Students have have gone on to have their artwork recognized in different venues, amongst dignitaries and even across our nation. TEACHERS Guadalupe Bojorquez and her daughter Beatrice Bojorquez set each child with an individualized program according to age and experience. Guest artists come from all over the Los Angeles area to work with Casa Cultural Saybrook. Our large network of local artists and performers allow us to expose our students to a diverse variety of styles, form, mediums, genres, cultural awareness, use of color and representation. The pool of talented artists that dedicate their time to our young ones continues to grow through the giving back to the communities that helped shape their minds and talent. Several times a year, children are introduced to culinary arts, a special class which is enjoyed by all who participate. PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS Throughout the year, Casa Cultural Saybrook partners up with teachers, artists, musicians and cultural centers from other countries to incorporate a unique element to our curriculum. We want students to understand the thought process behind a work of art of an artist born here of a particular culture and compare it to the thought process of an artist who resides in the actual country. The cultural centers we collaborate with share an interest and belief that cross exposure is beneficial to students and viewers who get the opportunity to experience it. |
